Schooling in the state’s west has received a major boost the Andrews Labor Governemnt, with the completion of the Warracknabeal Education Precinct giving local students world-class education close to home.
Through an investment of more than $27 million, Warracknabeal primary, secondary and special developmental schools are now all located on one site as well as an administration area, gym and function room – giving families in Yarrambiack Shire convenient and state-of-the-art schools close to home.
Brand new facilities completed as part of this project are giving students of all ages and abilities modern learning spaces to reach their full potential – and building confidence in the move from primary to secondary school.
Primary school classrooms and additional buildings for the special developmental school are the final stages to have been completed. Senior classrooms, a gallery and art space, and sensory and home craft areas are also making this precinct such an incredible place to learn and grow.
Students of all talents and interests will also be able to make the most of new Vocational Majors in VCE, with new buildings of the secondary college including facilities for horticulture, wood working, motor mechanics and metalwork.
The Labor Government invested $6 million in the first stage of the precinct, which saw the construction of a new administration building, school buildings for the special development school and secondary college completed in November 2018.
In the past nine years, we have invested $14.9 billion to build new schools and delivered more than 1940 school upgrades across the state – giving all Victorian students access to quality learning facilities no matter where they live.
The Government is ahead of schedule in opening 100 new schools by 2026, with 75 sites opening between 2019 and 2024, ensuring students in our growing areas get to great local schools sooner.
